Well I am just finishing up a 3 year degree in Music Production and Engineering.
Sound engineering is being able to operate desks in studios and set them up accordingly. Its also to do with microphone techniques and all the nitty gritty technical stuff.
Music production is learning to operate DAWs and achieve the best sounds and quality from stuff.

That's the beauty about Sound Engineering ~ It messes with the backstage stuff, and I love being a backstage person; also sound manipulation is definitely something I like doing. I'll have to research more into what is required of people in this field. it did help though, so thanks for it :3
No one at 16 (should) have a definite idea of what profession they want to do.
at 16 I wanted to be a professional basketball player.
Yeah, that's understandable.
I do want to stay in Music as a profession, since I love it and have been involved with it almost all of my life; and since I'll probably never be a big name in composition/performance, why not be behind the scenes? That's how Sound Engineering came to mind - That and me thinking about unique sound textures one day in class.

Of course; what i meant to say are two definite possibilities/professions I want to pursue in the future. Doesn't mean i'm done with life at all. sorry if that confused you in anyway :P
